Everything You Need to Know

Before you set out for your full-day adventure, here’s everything you need to know to make it smooth, safe, and unforgettable. From what to bring and where to meet to how the day runs offshore, our crew has thought of everything so you can focus on the fishing, the fun, and the memories you’ll make along the way.

Your safety always comes first. If strong winds or large swells are forecast, we’ll reschedule your trip to another available date. You’ll receive a text or call the evening before if conditions look unsafe. Charters still operate in light rain – just bring a jacket and enjoy the adventure.

Bookings can’t be cancelled, but you can reschedule with notice:

Shared charters: 7 days’ notice
Private charters: 14 days’ notice

Because full-day trips are group-only, rescheduling depends on vessel availability. If you miss your trip or provide insufficient notice, your booking or voucher will be forfeited per our Terms and Conditions.

No experience needed. Our professional crew caters to all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned anglers. Throughout the day, they’ll guide you through baiting, bottom fishing, trolling, and deep-drop techniques helping you land impressive reef and game species.

Full-day charters are for group bookings only of 12, 16, or 28 guests, depending on the vessel. These longer trips are ideal for corporate groups, fishing clubs, and serious anglers looking for more time offshore.

Bring a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a light jacket. Food, drinks, and a good attitude are always welcome! You may also pre-book a buffet lunch at an additional cost. Beer (in cans) and wine are permitted in moderation, but no spirits or glass bottles are allowed onboard.

We don’t provide refunds for seasickness, so if you’re prone to motion sickness, please take preventative medication before boarding. Our larger vessels are designed for offshore comfort, offering shade, seating, and excellent stability throughout the day.

We accept card and cash payments. A deposit is required to secure your group booking, with the balance due prior to departure. If you book online, you can pay securely through our booking portal.

Yes! All legal-sized fish are yours to keep. Our crew will gill, gut, and bag your catch so it’s ready to take home, cook, or chill. You’ll often return with Snapper, Mackerel, Tuna, Cobia, or other premium offshore species.

Absolutely. All True Blue Fishing vessels are fully insured, Queensland Government–survey certified, and fitted with GPS tracking, radios, lifejackets, and first-aid kits. A full safety briefing is given before every departure.

All trips depart from The Spit Pontoon, Muriel Henchman Drive, Main Beach, QLD (near Sea World). Follow the blue “Charter Boats” signs – plenty of free parking is available close to the jetty.
